MY BIO




Before coming to Marin County I lived in Los Angeles, where I was a studio musician. Before that I lived in
New York City. I was a composer and arranger for the Saturday Night Live band and a member of the house-band
at Catch a Rising Star.  I have accompanied and/or recorded with many internationally-known song-writers and
vocalists including Van Morrison and Bonnie Raitt and have traveled extensively with both of them.

Since 1967 I have been a keyboardist, music director, composer, and producer.
I have worked with such world-famous luminaries as Van Morrison
(yes, that was my piano playing on Moondance, my arranging on
"You Don't Pull No Punches, You Don't Push The River"); Bonnie Raitt
(I'm the guy wearing the cowboy hat on the cover of Sweet Forgiveness).
I have also worked with Elvin Bishop; Jesse Colin Young; Jonathan Edwards;
The Apple Pie Motherhood Band; Heathcliff The Cat; and Saturday Night Live.

Since 1991 I've also worked as a music teacher in an elementary school.
I've written hundreds of songs as a teaching and performance tool for my students.
I plan to release a series of books containing the best of these songs.

My greatest joy as pertains to my profession is writing songs for musical theater.
I am the musical director of four or five shows each year, some of which
I have written or co-written. I have been doing it since the 1970s.

I spend as much of my “free” time as possible with my family.
My oldest son, Jon (26) is pursuing a film career in NYC.
Ziggy (18 ) is a strong guitar player and is finishing high school.
Theo (6) and Sofie Anna (4) occupy much of my weekend time.
Baby Sarah will be tagging along in another year or two.
My wife, Eva, is my Angel of Family, who keeps our home running smoothly.
She also gives me the inspiration and support I need to keep it all together.

I thoroughly enjoy my very active life, especially when I bring joy to others through music.
